NATO intercepted a missile fired from Iran over Turkish territory
NATO air and missile defense forces intercepted a ballistic missile launched from Iranian territory. According to reports, the missile entered Turkish airspace and was subsequently destroyed by air defense systems.
This was reported by the Turkish Ministry of Defense on the X platform.
They stated that the missile was shot down by air defense and missile defense systems deployed by the Alliance in the eastern Mediterranean.
The ministry added that all necessary measures are being taken “resolutely and without hesitation” against any threat directed at Turkey’s territory and airspace.
This is the fourth such incident since the start of the war in the Middle East.
