Trump spoke about the condition of Iran's supreme leader
U.S. President Donald Trump stated that Mojtaba Khamenei is in very critical condition. According to him, Iran’s new supreme leader sustained serious injuries as a result of airstrikes.
US President Donald Trump made this statement in a comment to the New York Post.
According to the American leader, a complete regime change has taken place in Iran.
"The former regime is gone, and now we are dealing with completely new people. And so far, they are behaving much more sensibly," he added.
Separately, the president pointed out the uncertainty surrounding the health of Iran’s new supreme leader, who has not appeared in public since the start of the U.S.-Israeli operation.
"No one has heard from him. He is very seriously injured," Trump said.
In response to a question about whether Mojtaba Khamenei is alive, the American leader stated that the U.S. does not know.
"We think most likely yes, but he is in extremely critical condition," he added.
Rumors surrounding Khamenei’s fortune
As a reminder, Mojtaba Khamenei became Iran’s supreme leader after his father, Ali Khamenei, was assassinated by Israel and the U.S.
It is noteworthy that he has not appeared in public since February 28—the start of the war against Iran. At the same time, Iranian media have published several of his statements without video or audio recordings. It is known that Mojtaba Khamenei was also wounded as a result of a strike on Iranian territory.
Iran has warnedthe U.S. of the consequences of a ground operation and is threatening its allies.
The United States is stepping up pressure on Tehran, forcing the Iranian leadership to seek avenues for negotiations on Washington’s terms.
As a reminder, Trump stated that Iran had offered him the position of supreme leader.
Trump also mentioned the possibility of seizing Iranian oil and the island of Kharg.
