Netanyahu announces initiatives on citizenship and the IDF — Jerusalem Post
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he plans to introduce a legislative initiative to revoke the citizenship of people who, in his words, denigrate the Israel Defense Forces, or IDF.
Two legislative initiatives
The Jerusalem Post reports this. According to the publication, the citizenship proposal is one of two legislative initiatives Netanyahu intends to introduce. It concerns people whose actions or statements the prime minister characterizes as denigrating the Israeli army.

Defamation lawsuits
The second initiative provides for a 20-fold increase in the amount that could be sought in lawsuits against people for defaming the IDF. Thus, one proposal concerns revoking citizenship, while the other concerns the possible amount of claims in such lawsuits.
Netanyahu has only announced the submission of these legislative initiatives. These are proposed changes, not rules currently in force or already adopted.
