Germany is providing a new package of ammunition for Ukraine

Germany has decided to allocate an additional 300 million euros to the Czech initiative to procure ammunition for Ukraine, which will enable the purchase of tens of thousands of long-range shells for the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Berlin states that it will continue to support this mechanism as one of the key instruments of aid.

Germany has announced a new financial contribution to the Czech initiative focused on procuring ammunition for Ukraine, amounting to an additional 300 million euros, which is expected to significantly boost the supply of shells to the Ukrainian Defense Forces amid the ongoing war.

German Federal Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius made this announcement during a joint press conference with his Czech counterpart Jaromír Zuna in Berlin, emphasizing that this program remains a vital component of international support for Ukraine. “You came to Ukraine’s aid very early on, and above all, the Czech ammunition initiative has been and remains an important tool for supporting Ukraine to this day. Many thanks for the initiative itself, as well as for its continued implementation,” Pistorius said.

According to him, Germany not only supports but will also continue to expand its participation in this mechanism, as it allows for the rapid and effective provision of Ukraine with the necessary ammunition for the front lines. “As I announced to you today, Germany will contribute an additional 300 million euros to this initiative. This amounts to approximately 50,000 units of long-range ammunition,” the minister stated.

In effect, this contribution ensures the continued stable supply of shells through the Czech mechanism, which has already become one of the key instruments of international military aid to Ukraine, allowing for the procurement of ammunition on global markets and its rapid transfer to the Defense Forces. This was announced by German Federal Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius during a joint press conference with his Czech counterpart Jaromír Zuna on Tuesday in Berlin.

Germany and France are considering suspending or effectively winding down their joint defense project to develop the next-generation FCAS fighter jet. The initiative, which had been in the works for several years and involved billions in funding, has encountered serious difficulties during implementation. Due to disagreements between the parties, the project, which was supposed to become a key element of future European defense aviation, is now at risk of collapse.

Earlier, Russia announced that it had begun construction of the first flight prototype of the promising Su-75 Checkmate fighter jet, which had long remained only at the design stage. The UAC corporation says the aircraft is being developed both for its own military and for export
