Russia has authorized the issuance of anti-drone guns to postal workers
The Russian government has added counter-drone measures to the list of official equipment that postal workers may use. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed the corresponding decree.
The list includes equipment for countering unmanned aerial, underwater, and surface vehicles, unmanned transport, and other automated systems. However, the document does not specify which postal workers will be issued this equipment.
Demand for anti-drone devices in Russia has risen significantly in recent months. According to Vedomosti, in the first half of 2026, commercial companies increased their purchases of anti-drone systems by 6.6 times compared to the same period in 2025.
As “Mediazona” notes, certain types of weapons and special equipment are already being issued to postal workers. In particular, 9-millimeter pistols are intended for mail car supervisors and employees responsible for transit cash desks.
