Germany is gaining military experience by helping Ukraine, says Pistorius
Germany is strengthening its defense cooperation with Ukraine and drawing on Ukraine’s experience in developing modern military technologies that are tested directly in combat conditions. This was stated by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.

According to Pistorius, Berlin is reaping practical benefits from its support for Ukraine, particularly in the areas of unmanned systems and cybersecurity.
He emphasized that Ukrainian developments are created not in laboratories but in real combat conditions, which ensures their effectiveness and rapid improvement.
Germany plans to increase the number of military attachés at its embassy in Kyiv. They will serve as key coordinators for enhanced defense cooperation between the two countries.
German Economy Minister Katerina Reiche also announced the creation of a special office for German companies wishing to work with the Ukrainian defense sector.
The German government has confirmed continued financial assistance to Ukraine for the coming years. Specifically, it plans to allocate 11.6 billion euros in 2027, and 8.5 billion euros annually from 2028 to 2030.
Germany remains one of the largest European donors of military aid to Ukraine, having previously provided IRIS-T air defense systems, Leopard tanks, and other weapons.
Germany recently transferred three cogeneration units to Ukraine for the Chernihiv region, which are intended to ensure a stable supply of heat and electricity. This equipment will be able to meet the needs of tens of thousands of residents and the city’s critical infrastructure.
Germany is expanding its military exchange program and actively involving Ukrainian instructors with real combat experience in the training of Bundeswehr units to adapt its army to the conditions of modern warfare. Ukrainian military personnel are already working at key training schools and sharing the practical skills they gained on the front lines.
