German police are conducting one of the largest operations against a motorcycle gang
In the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, law enforcement officials carried out a large-scale raid against the Hells Angels motorcycle gang following the ban on its chapter in Leverkusen.
This was reported by DW.
About 1,200 police officers, including special units, were involved in the operation. Simultaneous searches took place in 28 cities, including Cologne, Dortmund, and Duisburg.
In the morning, law enforcement officers inspected more than 50 locations—both residential and commercial buildings—linked to gang members and their associates.
The ban on the Hells Angels chapter in Leverkusen is part of the authorities’ ongoing crackdown on this network in the region.
The investigation is being conducted on suspicion of forming a criminal organization. According to the criminal police, there were 29 chapters of the group operating in the state, comprising approximately 469 members.
