A German military brigade will arrive in Lithuania this fall
The first soldiers from the German brigade, which will be stationed in Lithuania, will move to the Rudninkai military town as early as the fall of 2026.
This was announced by Lithuanian Defense Minister Robertas Kaunas during the official launch of the second phase of construction of the military base.
According to him, work on the first phase of the project is ahead of schedule. It is expected to be completed ten months ahead of schedule, which will allow for the deployment of troops to begin as early as this fall.
Kaunas also thanked the contractors for beginning the second phase of construction and expressed hope that the project will continue to progress at the same pace.
The minister emphasized that Lithuania has sufficient experience and resources and recognizes the importance of completing the military town on time.
