A new deal with Iran will be the complete opposite of Obama's agreements – Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that a potential new deal with Iran will either be "great and significant" or there will be no deal at all. 

This was reported by ABC News.

The American leader emphasized that the future document would be the complete opposite of the former Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), signed during the Barack Obama administration, which he called a disastrous open path for Tehran to nuclear weapons. 

In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, the White House chief sharply rejected criticism directed at him, noting that his opponents know nothing about the details of the agreements, since official negotiations have not even begun yet. At the same time, Trump had expressed more optimism the day before, stating that the terms of a peace agreement intended to resolve the conflict and restore shipping in the Strait of Hormuz had already been largely agreed upon. The United States officially withdrew from the previous JCPOA nuclear agreement in 2018 following a decision by Donald Trump, who at the time called the document “rotten” because it limited Iran’s nuclear activities only for a specific fixed period.

Iranian state media reacted to U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement regarding alleged agreements to open the Strait of Hormuz, calling it “incomplete and untrue.”

The U.S. reacted strongly to Iran’s intentions to introduce a toll system for passage through the Strait of Hormuz, stating that this is unacceptable and could derail any negotiations. Washington considers this strategic waterway critically important and will not allow Tehran to exert commercial or political control over it.
