Britain's new prime minister held his first conversation with Trump

British Prime Minister Andy Burnham held his first international phone call since taking office. He spoke with U.S. President Donald Trump.

This was his first international phone call as prime minister.

Sources at The Telegraph reported that during the conversation, Burnham invited Trump to Manchester.

The publication notes that last month, in his first public comments regarding the former mayor of Greater Manchester, Trump described Andy Burnham as “extremely liberal.”

“I don’t know anything about him. I see that he was apparently the mayor of some city. I’ve heard he’s extremely liberal,” Trump said.

This was reported by Sky News.

We previously reported that Britain’s new prime minister postponed forming a government to speak with Trump.

In Britain, Andy Burnham has taken the helm of the Labour Party.

According to an investigation, Russian hackers carried out a large-scale attack on Jaguar Land Rover last year, which halted production for several weeks and caused approximately $2.5 billion in losses to the British economy. This could be one of the costliest cyberattacks in British history.

The United Kingdom announced a new package of sanctions against 24 individuals and organizations involved in Russian cyber and hybrid attacks. The restrictions are aligned with the European Union’s sanctions measures.
