Searches at Edmond de Rothschild Bank Headquarters in Paris over Corruption Probe involving French Foreign Ministry Official

Law enforcement authorities conducted searches at the Edmond de Rothschild bank headquarters in Paris as part of a criminal investigation into corruption charges against Fabrice Eadan, the chief secretary of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This probe is connected to Eadan’s involvement in matters related to American financier Jeffrey Epstein.

The name of Fabrice Eadan appears in case materials related to Jeffrey Epstein. According to Radio France, from 2010 to 2017, Eadan exchanged emails with Epstein and his associates. Between 2014 and 2016, he was employed at Edmond de Rothschild bank before moving on to the French energy and gas company Engie.

In mid-February, French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot announced an administrative review concerning Eadan’s conduct. Previously, Financial Times reported that Epstein was effectively the personal confidant of Ariane de Rothschild, a key figure at the bank. Their correspondence reveals that Epstein exerted considerable influence over the bank’s strategic decisions and personally supported Ariane de Rothschild during her career challenges.

Edmond de Rothschild is an international financial group with French origins, specialising in private banking, asset management, and investment services. The institution has a long-standing history and is recognised as a major player in the global financial market.

These searches are part of a broader investigation into corruption and related political and financial scandals. The probe may have further repercussions for prominent figures within French politics and business.

In the coming period, ongoing judicial proceedings and potential publication of additional evidence could significantly affect the reputations of those involved and the organisations concerned.
