Ukrainian law enforcement officials have notified a Russian servicemember that he is a suspect in the murder of a civilian during the occupation of Bucha. According to the investigation, the occupier took part in the shooting of a civilian vehicle, which resulted in one death. Investigators continue to document war crimes committed by Russian military personnel on Ukrainian territory.

The war crime was committed on March 6, 2022.
“The occupiers opened targeted fire with automatic weapons at the car. A 61-year-old civilian who was behind the wheel died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds,” the statement reads.
The National Police and the Office of the Prosecutor General have identified the Russian invader involved in the shooting.
He is the squad leader and commander of a combat vehicle in the 6th Airborne Assault Company of the 2nd Battalion Tactical Group of the 234th Airborne Assault Regiment of the 76th AirborneAssault Division of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Federation Armed Forces (military unit 74268).
He has now been notified that he is suspected of committing a war crime. He faces up to fifteen years or life imprisonment.
