The tanker P. Aliki, carrying Saudi oil, passed through the Strait of Hormuz
The oil tanker P. Aliki, carrying approximately 650,000 barrels of Saudi crude oil to Pakistan, passed through the Strait of Hormuz along the coast of Iran.
Bloomberg reports this.
According to vessel tracking data, seven ships left the Persian Gulf on Saturday:
- the tanker P. Aliki;
- two liquefied petroleum gas tankers;
- four bulk carriers.
All vessels took the northern route between the islands of Larak and Qeshm, while Tehran tightens control over the strait.
Despite this, the overall level of shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remains significantly lower than pre-war levels. Meanwhile, tankers linked to Iran continue to sail with their transponders turned off. The average shipping volume for the first 23 days of March was approximately 1.6 million barrels per day.
As a reminder, Thailand and Iran have agreed on the safe passage of Thai oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz. This decision will reduce the risk of fuel supply disruptions for the country and ensure greater stability for the energy market.
Additionally, the price of oil could reach a record $200 per barrel due to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.
