Piker compared US actions to Al-Qaeda terrorism — Jerusalem Post
In the United States, streamer and political commentator Hasan Piker said on the Axios podcast that, in his view, the United States is responsible for more terrorist acts than Al-Qaeda when comparing the number of deaths. As The Jerusalem Post reports, Piker also reaffirmed his previously stated position that America is the leading force in terrorism.
Strike on a school in Iran
As an example, Piker cited a deadly strike on an elementary school in Minab, Iran, in March. He called the deaths of 140 schoolgirls an act of terror, while emphasizing that he does not consider all Americans terrorists. According to him, accountability is needed to prevent such incidents from recurring.
The Donald Trump administration has not released the findings of the Pentagon’s investigation into the strike. At the same time, The Jerusalem Post notes that evidence was found that at least one US missile struck the school.

Connection to El-Sayed’s campaign
Piker, who has more than 3 million followers and is one of Twitch’s most popular streamers, drew additional attention because of his involvement in the campaign of Abdul El-Sayed, the Democratic Party candidate for the US Senate from Michigan. According to Axios, citing AdImpact, groups affiliated with the Republican Party spent nearly $3 million on ads against El-Sayed because of his ties to the streamer.
The ads used a clip of a 2019 statement by Piker in which he said that America deserved the September 11 terrorist attacks. The streamer apologized for those words and later said that he does not consider the attacks justified and that his analysis was aimed at preventing further violence.
El-Sayed disagreed with Piker’s assessment of the United States and Al-Qaeda. He told Axios that he does not share this view and does not place much weight on the streamer’s social media statements. The candidate also explained that he communicates with Piker because of his multimillion audience, not because of the blogger himself.
