Pakistan has carried out airstrikes on Afghan territory — BBC

For the first time since February, the Pakistani military carried out airstrikes on Afghan territory along the shared border.

Pakistani Information Minister Attullah Tarar stated on Wednesday, June 10, that four targets were hit and 26 militants were killed as a result of the “precision strikes.”

According to him, the operation was carried out in response to “recent terrorist attacks in Pakistan.” Tarar added that the targets included a training center and an ammunition depot.

Meanwhile, representatives of the Taliban movement in Afghanistan stated that 13 people, including 11 children, were killed as a result of Pakistani strikes in three provincesKunar, Khost, and Paktika.

It is noted that last October, the parties agreed to a ceasefire after several weeks of intense fighting. The current airstrikes mark the first escalation since February, when hundreds of people were killed in border clashes.

Pakistan has long accused Afghanistan of harboring terrorists who carry out attacks on Pakistani territory. The Taliban reject these accusations.

This is reported by the BBC.

As a reminder, Pakistan has deployed about 8,000 troops, combat aircraft, and an air defense system to Saudi Arabia amid the escalating conflict surrounding Iran.

Recall that Operation “Epic Fury” exposed the weakness of Iran’s air force.

Also, in the Kuwait incident, an F/A-18 shot down three American F-15s.

The nuclear-powered USS George H.W. Bush is preparing to deploy to the Middle East.
