Putin's friend's party in Germany plans to block aid to Ukraine
The BSW party is calling for an end to military aid to Ukraine and is prepared to push for this with the support of the far-right “Alternative for Germany” (AfD) in Saxony-Anhalt.
BSW representatives Claudia Wittig and Thomas Schulze have released an “Immediate Action Plan” in which they propose introducing a bill in the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament to oppose aid to Ukraine.
The BSW expects to vote for this initiative alongside the pro-Russian AfD.
“We hope that, thanks to the AfD’s votes, this proposal will secure a majority in the new state parliament,” the candidates’ document states.
Despite the lack of an official agreement between the parties, a BSW spokesperson confirmed that he is counting on the support of “Alternative for Germany,” as refusing to support Kyiv is their shared position.

As a reminder, the candidate for prime minister of Poland from the “Law and Justice” party (PiS), Przemysław Czarnek, stated that his political party will submit a draft resolution to the Sejm calling for a refusal to support Ukraine’s further progress toward European Union membership until historical disputes surrounding the Volhynia tragedy are resolved.
Ukraine could receive $12.7 billion in international aid by the end of 2026, but these funds are contingent upon the fulfillment of specific conditions set by international partners, including the passage of necessary laws in the Verkhovna Rada.
