First flight under seventh freedom of the air lands at Hainan
On 22 December, Sanya Airport on Hainan Island welcomed 115 passengers arriving from Prague. This marked the first flight operating under the seventh freedom of the air — the right to operate international flights between two foreign countries without landing in the airline’s home country.

The flight was operated by Kazakhstan’s SCAT Airlines. Upon arrival, the aircraft was greeted with a traditional water salute. This route is the inaugural service under the Hainan Free Trade Port initiative, with scheduled flights to and from the Czech Republic operating once a week.
This development opens new avenues for aviation connectivity and economic cooperation, enhancing tourism and trade exchanges between the involved countries.
