Peskov Responded to Tokayev Regarding the End of the War in Ukraine
Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian dictator, responded to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev regarding his proposal to end the war in Ukraine.
“Such a scenario is impossible… because of Kyiv’s position. For Russia, the main thing is to achieve its goal, and hostilities could supposedly cease today by the end of the day if Ukraine makes the appropriate decisions,” the Kremlin spokesman told reporters.
He did not specify exactly what Ukraine must do. However, Putin has previously stated on multiple occasions that their goal is to seize the entire Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
It should be recalled that during a face-to-face meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed suspending hostilities in Ukraine and returning to the negotiation process based on the 2022 Istanbul agreements.
Kazakhstan’s Constitutional Court ruled that Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s presidential terms would be reset to zero following the entry into force of the country’s new Constitution.
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that Kazakhstan is the successor to the Golden Horde and called for studying its political and economic model.
