In Russia, the tax authorities have frozen the accounts of the Salavat Yulaev hockey club due to unpaid taxes.

This was reported by Russian media.

Five accounts have been frozen due to a debt of approximately 87 million rubles (about $1.1 million). All of the club’s financial transactions have been suspended.

This is not the first such incident in 2026—the club’s accounts were previously frozen in February due to a debt of 84 million rubles.

"Salavat Yulaev" is one of the leading hockey clubs in the Russian Federation, competing in the Kontinental Hockey League and a Gagarin Cup champion.

As a reminder, Mircea Lucescu, the former coach of Kyiv’s Dynamo and Donetsk’s Shakhtar, was placed in an induced coma following another episode of severe cardiac arrhythmia.

Former star of London’s “Chelsea” and the Brazilian national team, Oscar, was forced to announce the end of his professional career. He is currently 34 years old.
