Poland is ready to modernize the MiG-29 for Ukraine, but there's a catch
Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz announced progress in negotiations regarding the transfer of Polish MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine in exchange for access to Ukrainian technology in the field of unmanned aerial systems.
Commenting on Ukraine’s concerns regarding the poor technical condition of the aircraft, the defense minister confirmed Warsaw’s readiness to assist with their modernization. At the same time, he emphasized that the costs must be covered by Ukraine or its allies.
According to the official, the Ukrainian side has already returned to the negotiating table; however, to reach final agreements, the principle of reciprocity must be strictly adhered to.
