Poland has not made a decision regarding the transfer of MiG-29s to Ukraine

Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated that the issue of transferring MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine remains unresolved for now.

According to him, no final decision has yet been made regarding the possible delivery of the aircraft to Ukraine.

Kosiniak-Kamysz commented on the transfer of fighter jets to Ukraine during a press conference, at which he, among other things, disclosed details about the military aid Warsaw has provided to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

“This issue has not yet been resolved. We have received a request from the Ukrainian side stating that it remains interested in this,” said the Polish defense minister.

He stated that Ukraine had presented its proposals regarding the transfer of drones to Poland over the next two years.

“So this possibility of an exchange is realistic, but it must be an exchange, not simply a one-sided transfer by Poland. We are approaching this very cautiously,” the Polish minister added.

He made these remarks during a press conference on Monday, July 6, according to the country’s Ministry of Defense.

Poland is once again not involved in key negotiations regarding Ukraine – TVP World.

As a reminder, the U.S. will provide Poland with a $2 billion loan to purchase weapons: F-35 fighter jets, Patriot air defense missile systems, and Abrams tanks.

Earlier, Poland signed an agreement with the U.S. for the delivery of 96 AH-64E Apache Guardian attack helicopters, along with a logistics and training package, for a total of $10 billion.
