Poland and South Korea agree to expand military contacts
In Warsaw, representatives of the land forces of Poland and South Korea agreed to expand high-level contacts and joint exercises, and to establish a regular bilateral consultation mechanism between the armies. Korea Herald reports, citing the South Korean army.
Meetings in Poland
South Korean Army Chief of Staff General Kim Gyu-ha was in Poland on a three-day visit that began on Sunday. He held separate meetings with Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces General Wiesław Kukuła and General Commander of the Polish Army Lieutenant General Marek Sokołowski.
Kim Gyu-ha and Wiesław Kukuła agreed to establish a regular consultation format between the land forces of the two countries. According to the South Korean army, they also discussed expanding exchanges between senior officials and joint exercises.

Defense cooperation
The sides considered opportunities to strengthen cooperation in the defense industry, particularly in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of weapons. Kim Gyu-ha expressed hope for strengthening mutual trust based on defense cooperation.
He emphasized the need for active communication for the stable operation of weapons systems, as well as for developing cooperation in military education and training. Poland is a major European buyer of South Korean land and artillery systems, including K2 main battle tanks, K9 self-propelled howitzers, and Chunmoo multiple launch rocket systems.
