Poland intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft for the second time this week

On the morning of August 4, Polish fighter jets intercepted a Russian Il-20 reconnaissance aircraft. This is the second such incident this week.

Polish Defense Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz reported this. According to him, a pair of Polish jets escorted the Russian aircraft 56 km northwest of Koszalin in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

“Russia is once again carrying out provocative actions near NATO’s borders, testing the vigilance and readiness of the Alliance’s defense systems,” Kosiniak-Kamysz noted.

Earlier this week, the Polish military had already intercepted a Russian reconnaissance aircraft near its borders.
