Poland has no plans to redeploy its Patriot air defense systems, despite requests from the United States regarding their possible relocation to the Middle East.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
According to him, the Patriot batteries will remain in the country, as they are intended to protect Polish airspace and NATO’s eastern flank.
“Nothing is changing in this regard, and we do not plan to move them anywhere,” the minister emphasized.
He added that Poland’s security is an absolute priority, and the allies understand this well.
Earlier, media reported that the U.S. was considering the possibility of redeploying one of the Polish Patriot batteries and obtaining missiles for use in the Middle East.
Polish Deputy Defense Minister Cezary Tomczyk also confirmed that the systems remain in the country and are fulfilling their defense missions.
