El Al will not fly to Moscow until at least September
The Israeli airline El Al has extended the suspension of flights between Tel Aviv and Moscow until at least early September. The company attributed this decision to the security situation. The carrier had originally planned to resume flights much earlier.
El Al, Israel’s largest airline, has decided not to resume flights on the Tel Aviv–Moscow route until the end of summer. This was reported by the Israeli news service N12. Flights between the two cities were suspended back in late June. The company cited the deteriorating security situation amid the war between Russia and Ukraine as the reason. Initially, El Al expected the suspension to be short-lived and anticipated that flights would resume in the near future.
However, after further assessment of the situation, the airline’s management decided to extend the suspension of flights. According to N12, flights between Tel Aviv and Moscow will not operate until at least early September. The company cited security concerns as the reason for its decision. “After assessing the situation, the company decided to extend the suspension of flights until early September,” N12 reports.
El Al has not yet announced an exact date when flights to Moscow may resume. Further decisions will depend on how the security situation develops and on the assessment of flight risks. Passengers who have already purchased tickets for canceled flights are advised to monitor the airline’s announcements regarding possible refunds or rebooking options.
