More than 200 Ukrainian experts are helping Middle Eastern countries shoot down drones
During his address to the British Parliament, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that 201 Ukrainian military experts are already deployed in the Middle East, and another 34 are preparing for deployment.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made this statement during his address to the British Parliament.
Ukrainian teams, which have unique experience in combating Iranian drones, are currently deployed in the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia. In the near future, another group of experts will travel to Kuwait under the terms of signed intergovernmental agreements.
The mission’s goal is to transfer practical knowledge on intercepting “Shahed”-type drones, which Iran uses to terrorize its neighbors and exports for aggression against Ukraine. While Russia deepens its military cooperation with Tehran, Ukraine is becoming a key security provider in the Arab world, helping partners protect critical infrastructure. Zelenskyy emphasized that Iranian terror must not succeed in either Europe or the Middle East, which is why expanding the air defense network is a priority.
Earlier, official Tehran called Ukraine a “legitimate target” due to its military assistance to Israel and other countries in the region in the fight against drones. Despite the threats, Kyiv continues to scale up the export of defense technologies and expertise, confirming Ukraine’s status as a global leader in the field of modern unmanned and anti-drone warfare. Cooperation with the Gulf monarchies allows not only to contain Iranian expansion but also to strengthen Ukraine’s strategic positions on the international stage.
As a reminder, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that the United States does not need Ukraine’s help in defending against Iranian drone strikes. He emphasized that American drones are “the best in the world” and their capabilities surpass any others.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on U.S. President Donald Trump’s statement that the United States allegedly does not need Ukraine’s help in combating Iranian “Shahed” drones. The head of state called such words “rhetoric” and emphasized that what matters most are real actions and cooperation between countries.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that the U.S. military leadership has repeatedly contacted the Ukrainian side with a request to share expertise on countering Iranian strike drones.
