EU Ambassador Maternova condemned Russia's massive attack on Ukraine
Katarina Mathernova, the European Union’s Ambassador to Ukraine, reacted strongly to Russia’s latest massive attack on the night of March 24, calling it an act of terror against the civilian population.
The diplomat shared her thoughts on social media.
She emphasized that targeted strikes on civilian cities and critical infrastructure demonstrate Russia’s unwillingness to cease its aggression.
“Russia carried out another massive nighttime attack on Ukraine, deploying over 390 drones and 34 missiles that struck 11 regions. As a result of this attack, buildings were destroyed in Zaporizhzhia and Poltava, and a drone crashed into a train in Kharkiv. At least 4 people were killed, and more than 20 were wounded, including children,” Maternova stated.
She also emphasized that this was “yet another brutal night of fear and loss” for the Ukrainian people.
That night, Russian occupiers carried out another combined attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Due to damage to the power grid, some consumers in six regions were left without electricity.
Additionally, in Znamianka, 20 houses were damaged following a drone attack.
