EU ambassador and Ghana police chief discuss cooperation — MyJoyOnline
In Ghana, European Union Ambassador Rune Skinnebach paid a protocol visit to Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno. The parties discussed strengthening cooperation between the EU and the Ghana Police Service.
Police support
The discussion concerned the EU's current support for the Ghanaian police. It includes training, police-community engagement, forensic investigations, cybersecurity, crime scene management and other capacity-building programmes.
As MyJoyOnline reports, Christian Tetteh Yohuno thanked the EU for its support and called for deeper cooperation in cybersecurity, counterterrorism, specialised training and police-community engagement.

Security and the rule of law
Yohuno noted that further support in these areas would help the Ghana Police Service respond more effectively to emerging security challenges.
Rune Skinnebach reaffirmed the EU's commitment to working with the Ghanaian police to strengthen policing and support security and the rule of law in Ghana.
The meeting is part of the ongoing efforts by the EU and the Ghana Police Service to develop institutional capacity and improve police work.
