Fire at a construction site in Brussels: fatalities and people missing – Reuters
A major fire broke out at a construction site in Brussels, located in the city’s central square, resulting in fatalities, and the search for those missing is ongoing. At the time the fire broke out, more than 200 workers were on the large renovation site. Three people with injuries of varying severity were rushed to the hospital.
A representative of the local labor inspection service reported that during an inspection of the site, the bodies of an unknown number of people were found in one of the two elevators at the construction site. Law enforcement and emergency services are currently determining whether these are the bodies of all six workers who were previously reported missing.
