A One Nation employee was accused of posing as a representative of a progressive website
The owners of the Australian progressive website Toilet Paper Australia have stated that an employee of the right-wing populist party One Nation allegedly posed as their representative at rallies against party leader Pauline Hanson. According to The Guardian, during these events, a young host recorded video interviews with protesters.
Recently, One Nation has been posting videos on Instagram, TikTok, and X showing this host attending left-wing protests and asking participants questions that, according to the publication, were intended to put them on the spot. In one video, he says he is “going undercover to protest against his boss, Pauline Hanson.” In another clip, Hanson herself appears and jokingly asks the host who he’s been spending time with.
A representative of Toilet Paper Australia emphasized that the man does not represent the page and is not affiliated with it. The page has 128,000 followers on Instagram, regularly criticizes One Nation, and publishes critical content about conservative politicians.

The Guardian spoke with three participants in the June rally against Hanson in Brisbane, organized by the Campaign Against Racism and Fascism. They claim that the host from the videos approached them and identified himself as a representative of Toilet Paper Australia. One of the participants, Che Yangz, said he didn’t suspect the man had any connection to One Nation, since people often film at such events for social media.
Two other participants, who asked that their names not be disclosed, stated that the man asked leading questions, giving them the opportunity to criticize Hanson’s party. One Nation did not respond to the publication’s request for comment. The host also did not respond to journalists who reached out to him via several social media platforms.
