An NRC representative spoke of a critical humanitarian situation in Gaza despite the ceasefire
Nine months after the ceasefire took effect, the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip remains critical. Shaina Lowe, communications advisor for the Norwegian Refugee Council’s mission in Palestine, made this statement in an interview with France 24.
According to her, despite the reduction in the scale of hostilities, Gaza still remains in a state of structural emergency. Lowe believes that humanitarian organizations are unable to transition from short-term aid to reconstruction.

The NRC representative attributed this to significant restrictions on the delivery of aid, construction materials, and fuel. She also mentioned restrictions on the access required for humanitarian organizations to operate.
According to Lowe, the main problem lies not only in the scale of the destruction but also in the inability to change the situation despite the ceasefire. The France 24 article was published on July 24, 2026.
