Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever only learned upon his return from the NATO summit that a revolver from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was among the official gifts. It is reported that the Belgian prime minister was surprised by this gift.
According to reports, the Belgian prime minister discovered the contents of the gift only after landing at the military airport in Melsbroek.
Upon discovering the revolver, De Wever handed it over to the police at Melsbroek Airport. There, it was placed in a weapons safe.
