Iraqi prime minister to visit US and meet President Trump — Anadolu Agency
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaidi will visit the United States next week, where he will take part in UN General Assembly events and meet with US President Donald Trump. This was reported by Anadolu Agency, citing Iraqi government spokesperson Haider al-Abbudi.
Address at the General Assembly
According to al-Abbudi, al-Zaidi will speak on behalf of Iraq at the UN General Assembly. During the visit, he also plans to hold meetings with Trump and other heads of state.
The high-level debate of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly will take place in New York from September 22 to 26 and will conclude on September 28. The session opened on September 8.

Economic contacts
The Iraqi prime minister is also expected to take part in a meeting of the US Chamber of Commerce. The government spokesperson called this part of efforts to maintain economic and trade relations between Baghdad and Washington.
Al-Abbudi said that September 30 will be an important date for Iraq's sovereignty, while relations with the United States are moving toward long-term economic cooperation.
