The President of Bulgaria announced the country's withdrawal from the Coalition of the Resolute

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev stated that the country will no longer participate in the “Coalition of the Resolute” format, as it advocates for a diplomatic resolution to the war in Ukraine rather than further military support.

According to Radev, French President Emmanuel Macron invited him to a meeting of the “Coalition of the Resolute” leaders in Paris on July 13, but he declined to attend. The Bulgarian president emphasized that his country “has no place” in this format.

“I do not believe that Bulgaria has a place in the ‘Coalition of the Resolute.’ We are not part of a coalition that insists on continuing financial and military aid to Ukraine. I believe that the path to resolving this conflict lies through robust diplomatic efforts aimed at halting the escalation, rather than through its continuation by military means,” Radev stated.

In addition, he announced that Bulgaria will not participate in the Integrated Missile Defense Coalition, which is intended to strengthen Europe’s capabilities to defend against ballistic missiles.

According to the president, issues concerning the country’s collective security should be decided within the framework of the European Union and NATO, in which Bulgaria is a full participant.

This was reported by BTA.

As a reminder, members of the “Coalition of the Willing” called for a complete and immediate cessation of hostilities in Ukraine. They also agreed to increase the supply of air defense systems and reaffirmed their readiness to provide Ukraine with reliable security guarantees.

Zelenskyy announced an intensification of diplomatic effortswith neighboring countries.
