President Erdoğan supports normalization of trade and transport with Armenia — Anadolu Agency
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during a meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in New York, United States, stated his support for normalizing trade and transport ties between the two countries. The Turkish president also stressed the need to maintain the positive momentum in bilateral relations, Anadolu Agency reports.
Meeting in New York
Erdoğan and Pashinyan held talks at the Turkish House, or Turkevi, on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. According to Türkiye’s Directorate of Communications, the sides discussed bilateral relations as well as regional and global issues.

Peace process and international cooperation
Erdoğan stated that Türkiye welcomes mutual steps in the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. He also noted that strengthening cooperation between Türkiye and Armenia within international organizations contributes to the process of normalizing relations.
During the meeting, the Turkish president invited Pashinyan to take part in the COP31 leaders’ summit in Türkiye. Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan also attended the talks.
