President Herzog plans to recommend four Israelis for an award — Jerusalem Post
In Israel, President Isaac Herzog said he intends to recommend four Israelis for the President's Medal for Civilian Heroism. They are Yaniv Hayun, Dr. Shota Musaev, Tzvika Mans and Asaf Rajwan, who, according to the Jerusalem Post, helped stop an attacker during flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Israel.
Events aboard the aircraft
According to the office of the president of Israel, one of the pilots stabbed the other, after which the aircraft began losing altitude. Indian captain Smith Machchar resisted the man described in the statement as the attacker and opened the cockpit door, allowing others to intervene.
According to this account, Tali Mans warned people nearby about the danger. Hayun, Mans and Rajwan then headed to the cockpit, entered it and neutralized the attacker. Hayun also helped stabilize control of the aircraft.

Emergency landing
After the attacker was neutralized, Musaev provided emergency medical assistance to the seriously wounded captain and helped stabilize his condition until the aircraft made an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia. According to the publication, the injured Machchar was able to unlock the cockpit before losing consciousness.
Herzog thanked the four Israelis and the Indian captain, saying that their actions made it possible to neutralize the attacker and save many lives. The candidacies of Hayun, Musaev, Mans and Rajwan are to be considered by an advisory committee under the president before a possible official presentation of the award.
Herzog established the President's Medal for Civilian Heroism during the war to honor civilians who saved others while risking their own lives.
