Cyprus President Christodoulides pledges continued investment in education
Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides stated that the government will continue investing in the modernization of the education system. In a recorded video address marking the start of the new school year, he addressed schoolchildren, students and teachers, Cyprus Mail reports.

According to Christodoulides, the beginning of the school and academic year opens a path for young people to knowledge, new experiences, challenges and great expectations. He noted that pupils and students have an opportunity to shape the future they aspire to, discover their own strengths and develop their talents.
The president called on young people to acquire knowledge with critical thinking and an open mind, be guided by creative curiosity and use every opportunity to learn. He stressed that teachers are alongside pupils and students on this path, serving as mentors and important companions.

Education reforms
Addressing educators, Christodoulides thanked them for their difficult work, which is important for society. He stated that the state recognizes their contribution to shaping responsible and active citizens, and that thanks to teachers' dedication, classrooms become centers of creativity, innovation and hope for the country's future.
According to him, the start of the new school year is accompanied by additional targeted institutional reforms at all levels. The president said the government's goal is to create a modern, people-oriented and open school capable of responding to the challenges of the times.
Christodoulides also mentioned the closed school classrooms in the occupied territories. He called education the strongest beacon of hope for a country under occupation and linked it to the aspiration for Cyprus' liberation and reunification.
