President Mahama says investor confidence has returned to Ghana — MyJoyOnline
Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama said that investor confidence in the country’s economy has returned after several years of decline. According to him, prudent management and strict fiscal discipline contributed to this, resulting in a significant reduction in inflation and public debt.
Mahama said this during a meeting at Jubilee House with International Finance Corporation Managing Director Makhtar Diop. The parties discussed opportunities to strengthen Ghana’s economy through strategic partnership, MyJoyOnline reports.
Agricultural sector and raw material processing
One of the main topics of the talks was the expansion of commercial agriculture, particularly in cocoa, oil palm and poultry production. They also discussed a government policy under which at least 50% of cocoa beans, other agricultural products and minerals must be processed directly in Ghana.

Education financing
The president also announced that Ghana had received a $300 million financing package from the World Bank. The funds are intended to fully abolish the double-track system in senior high schools by the end of 2027.
Makhtar Diop praised the president’s commitment to economic reforms and stated IFC’s readiness to support Ghana’s commercial agriculture and broader efforts to build a resilient economy.
