Suspected Foxtrot member detained in Morocco — The National
In the Moroccan city of Tangier, 21-year-old Ali Namdar was detained at Sweden’s request. Swedish police suspect him of involvement in serious violent crimes and link him to the Foxtrot criminal network. The man, known by the alias Joker, is in custody in Morocco after he was reportedly found with false documents, The National reports.
Suspicions in Sweden and Norway
Namdar was wanted in connection with 18 offences. Among other things, he is suspected of inciting an attempted attack in which a 12-year-old girl was to detonate two hand grenades in the Hulta district of the Swedish city of Borås last year. Swedish police also consider him a suspect in several violent crimes, including attempted murder.
In Norway, Ali Namdar is wanted on suspicion of carrying out grenade attacks, shootings and kidnappings. Swedish police superintendent Theodor Smedius called the detention strategically important and said that the suspect had long had a significant impact on the level of violence in Sweden.

Extradition and investigation
Swedish prosecutors said the 21-year-old man had been remanded in custody in absentia under decisions by several Swedish district courts on suspicion of inciting serious violent crimes. Prosecutor Helen Gestrin said Sweden would send Morocco an extradition request. In her experience, consideration of such a request may take several months.
Foxtrot is linked to the network’s founder, Rawa Majid. The United States and the United Kingdom imposed sanctions on the network and Majid over attacks on Jewish and Israeli sites which, according to The National, were carried out in Iran’s interests by recruiting teenagers through social media.
Previously, Swedish authorities secured the detention of other wanted individuals linked to Foxtrot. In May, Mohamed Mohdhi, considered the network’s second most influential member and suspected of murder, was detained in Tunisia. In January, 21-year-old Ali Shehab was detained in Sulaymaniyah in Iraqi Kurdistan; he was accused of recruiting children to murder members of rival criminal groups.
