Lee Jae-myung will be the first sitting South Korean president to visit China since 2019. During his meeting with Xi Jinping, key issues such as supply chains, investment, digital economy, environmental protection, and cross-border crime are expected to be discussed. The leaders are also anticipated to address China’s role in facilitating renewed negotiations with North Korea and issues related to nuclear weapons.
This visit could mark a significant step toward strengthening bilateral relations and regional security, especially by advancing dialogue on the North Korean nuclear situation.
