Syrian president receives Turkish Foreign Minister Fidan in Damascus
In Syria, President Ahmed al-Sharaa received Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Damascus, who was on an official visit to the Syrian capital.
Meeting in Damascus
Turkey's Foreign Ministry reported the meeting in a post on the NSosyal platform. According to the ministry, Fidan was received by the Syrian president during his visit to Damascus on Sunday, September 13, 2026.

As Anadolu Agency reports, the meeting with al-Sharaa took place as part of the Turkish foreign minister's official trip to Syria.
Ministers' talks
Before meeting with the Syrian president, Fidan held talks with his Syrian counterpart, Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani. After the talks, the foreign ministers of Turkey and Syria held a joint press conference.
