The U.S. President promises to end the war with Iran "soon"

The U.S. is not yet ready to end the war with Iran, but President Donald Trump has promised that “a resolution will come in the near future.” At the same time, he did not specify any dates or plans for after the end of hostilities. Trump emphasized that the US has inflicted serious damage on Iran, and in his estimation, it will take the country ten years to recover, according to CNN

On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump again gave a rather vague signal regarding the end of the war with Iran. From the Oval Office, he stated: “We’re not ready to leave yet, but we will leave in the near future.”

When asked about the plan of action after the war, Trump gave an evasive answer, noting only that Iran “has been destroyed on all sides.” He did not provide any details on how the U.S. plans to proceed after the end of combat operations.

Trump also stated that he believes the U.S. has inflicted such severe damage on Iran that it will take the country a full decade to recover. This statement was yet another example of his ambiguous and contradictory assessments regarding the timeline for ending the war, which has been ongoing for over two weeks.

Analysts note that such general statements increase uncertainty for U.S. allies and partners, leaving the future of the conflict open-ended.

Additionally, the conflict between the U.S. and Israel threatens to leave 45 million people facing hunger.
