Tajik President Rahmon receives honorary ninth-degree taekwondo black belt — Korea Herald

Tajik President Emomali Rahmon received an honorary ninth-degree taekwondo black belt during a visit to Kukkiwon in Seoul, South Korea. The award was presented to him before the end of his four-day visit to the country, Korea Herald reports.

Ceremony at Kukkiwon

The honorary ninth-degree certificate and taekwondo uniform were presented to Rahmon by Kukkiwon President Yun Ung-seok. Kukkiwon is the governing body of taekwondo.

During the ceremony, Yun asked the Tajik president to make efforts to support the development and promotion of taekwondo in Tajikistan.

Visit to South Korea

Rahmon was in South Korea to attend the first South Korea–Central Asia summit, as well as a bilateral summit with President Lee Jae-myung. The visit to Kukkiwon took place earlier that same day.
