SAFA President Danny Jordaan Re-elected for Fourth Term in South Africa
In South Africa, Danny Jordaan, president of the South African Football Association (SAFA), has been re-elected for a fourth consecutive term. At the electoral congress, he received 157 votes, while AmaZulu football club president Sandile Zungu received 82 votes, TimesLIVE reports.
Statement about the final term
Sunday Times sports editor Bareng-Bato Kortjaas recalled in his column that after the previous election in 2022, Jordaan stated that he was serving his final term. At the time, he defeated Ria Ledwaba by 186 votes to 27, while Solly Mohlabeng received eight votes.
On June 3, during hearings of the parliamentary committee on sport, arts and culture, Rise Mzansi party MP Makashule Gana asked Jordaan about that statement. The SAFA president replied that he would discuss the matter with association members, and later said that he did not remember where he could have made the statement.

According to Kortjaas, Jordaan spoke about his final term on the Soccer Africa programme on the SuperSport television channel.
Criticism in the column
Kortjaas critically assessed the voting results and the work of SAFA’s leadership. In particular, he wrote that members of the association’s executive committee received remuneration of 153,000 rand each, while Bafana Bafana national team players who reached the World Cup playoff stage, according to his information, have not yet received their bonuses.
The author also raised questions about Fun Valley, which SAFA presents as a national technical training centre. In the columnist’s view, the facility does not look like a structure on which, as claimed in the article, 60 million rand was spent.
