Prince George begins his studies at Eton

Prince George is beginning his studies at Eton College in Berkshire, United Kingdom. The 13-year-old son of Prince William and Catherine will study at the elite private institution as a boarder. George is second in line to the British throne after his father.

This was reported by MyJoyOnline. Previously, the prince attended the independent preparatory school Lambrook in Berkshire. The choice of Eton means that he will continue a family tradition: his father Prince William, uncle Prince Harry and great-uncle Earl Spencer studied at the institution.

Boarding education

Eton College has 25 boarding houses, each accommodating around 55 pupils. They are supervised by institution staff led by a house master. According to the Good Schools Guide, each pupil is provided with a separate room. The school is located near the prince's family home in Windsor.

Former pupils of the college include David Cameron, Boris Johnson, Kwasi Kwarteng and Jacob Rees-Mogg, as well as actors Eddie Redmayne, Dominic West, Damian Lewis and Tom Hiddleston.

Prince William, who began studying at Eton in 1995, said in an interview in June 2000 that he enjoyed being an ordinary pupil at the school.
