The U.S. has intercepted 94 merchant ships following a new blockade of Iran

After the resumption of the naval blockade of Iran, the U.S. military rerouted 94 merchant ships. All of them were headed for Iran or were leaving its ports.

This was reported by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) on X.

“As of September 7, CENTCOM forces have diverted 94 commercial vessels, disabled 3, and boarded 2 to ensure full compliance with the blockade,” the statement said.

They also released a photo of an E/A-18G aircraft taking off from the deck of the aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush (CVN 77) during night flights. According to military officials, the ship is assisting in enforcing the U.S. blockade against Iran in the Arabian Sea.

Prior to this, Iran had announced a response to new U.S. attacks, and ship traffic through the Strait of Hormuz had decreased.
