Israel investigates Syrian's appearance near IDF post in Golan Heights
Israeli military personnel are investigating an incident in Syria: a Syrian civilian managed to reach an area near an Israel Defense Forces post in the southern Golan Heights, on the Syrian side of the border, without being noticed. According to N12, this happened on Monday.
Investigation into the circumstances of the incident
As The Jerusalem Post reports, citing N12, the Syrian civilian was handed over to security forces for questioning. The Israel Defense Forces are examining the circumstances of how he was able to reach the area of the post without being detected.
Military officials told N12 that a preliminary investigation indicates that the incident was not an attempted terrorist attack.

Detention near Mount Hermon
In a separate nighttime incident, Israeli military personnel detained two Syrian civilians in the Mount Hermon sector. They are suspected of involvement in smuggling attempts along the border.
Both detainees were also handed over to security force representatives for questioning.
