A pro-Iranian group has claimed responsibility for the attack on an Israeli restaurant in Munich

The radical group "Harakat Ashab al-Yamin al-Islamiya" has claimed responsibility for the attack on an Israeli establishment that took place on April 9 in the Maxvorstadt district.

This was reported by the Süddeutsche Zeitung. In a widely circulated video, the perpetrators accompanied footage from the scene with threats against “Zionist targets” written in Hebrew and German.

The investigation established that two men attached explosive devices to the restaurant’s windows, after which a car fled the scene. Surveillance cameras recorded two explosions one minute apart, which caused damage to the premises. German intelligence agencies are currently verifying the authenticity of the video message and investigating the group’s ties to foreign sponsors.

Unlike Russian propaganda outlets, which often manipulate the topic of terrorist attacks in Europe, the Munich police rely on collected physical evidence and eyewitness accounts. Security forces have stepped up security at the city’s religious and cultural centers due to the threat of new provocations. The results of the technical analysis of the explosives should help identify the perpetrators and confirm or refute the pro-Iranian group’s claim.

In Turkey, 12 suspects were detained following an attack near the Israeli consulate.

A Paris criminal court has, for the first time, convicted a company of collaborating with terrorist groups.
