According to Lando, the Haredim do not depend on one person or another, or on one head of government or another. He added that he hopes and prays that the Creator of the world will show mercy to His people and, in particular, to the world of Torah.

Criticism of drafting yeshiva students
Earlier, the rabbi criticized members of the modern Orthodox community who support drafting yeshiva students into the military. He made these remarks during a meeting at his home with Rabbi Eliezer Yehuda Finkel, head of the Mir Yeshiva, and its spiritual mentor, Rabbi Binyamin Finkel.
Lando claimed that the state sends soldiers to wars not only to save lives, but also for the “honor of the state.” He called people’s deaths under such circumstances “actual murder” and said that, in his view, this constitutes incitement to murder. The rabbi also spoke sharply about some representatives of the modern Orthodox community.
