IRGC spokesman says US staged pilot rescue in Iran — Jerusalem Post
In Iran, Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps spokesman Hossein Mohebbi said that the United States allegedly staged the rescue of an American pilot after an F-15 fighter jet crash. As The Jerusalem Post reports, Mohebbi made the statement in an interview with Iran’s official IRNA news agency.
Statement by the IRGC representative
Mohebbi called the rescue story “Hollywood propaganda” and claimed that the United States had allegedly resorted to such actions before. He also said that Iran had shot down the American fighter jet and that it crashed.
The IRGC spokesman questioned the description of the pilot’s fall, saying that he could not have survived a fall at a speed of 160 km/h without a parachute. According to him, the United States is spreading this story to demonstrate its ability to rescue its servicemen in similar situations.

Account of the American pilot
According to the publication, Iran shot down an American F-15 in April, and one of the pilots was rescued several days after the crash. The pilot, identified only by the call sign Bravo, previously told CBS’s 60 Minutes that his parachute was damaged during the initial attack.
Bravo said that the most frightening moment was seeing that there was no parachute above him. According to CBS, he suffered fractures to his back, arm and shoulder, a sprained ankle, as well as head and facial injuries due to the hard landing. Shortly after the fall, Iranian media announced a reward for his capture.
